dancefloorlandmine: Me pointing at camera (Default)

[Doh] You readers, me muppet ...

Just realised that it would be patently stupid to take the camera with the photos of the last B-Movie over to the photo shop across the road, given that I'm not going to be back here for another week and half. Still, at least I remembered first!

And in a nasty attack of garbled lyrics:

Colleague - "Wet shoelaces are one of my least favourite things."
Yours truly - "Not like little kittens tied up with string, then. Err ... I'm not sure I meant that."

Got me thinking of alternative lyrics

"Rain drops on noses
And whiskers on mittens
Bright copper kettle and
Warm woolen kittens
Brown paper packages tied up with string
These are a few of my favourite things!"

Should I be scared by your knowledge of the correct lyrics as well? [grin]

Whiskers on mittens
Interesting idea - would they help you navigate through narrow spaces in the dark?

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens,
bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens,
brown paper packages tied up with strings,
these are a few of my favorite things.

Cream colored ponies and crisp apple strudels,
door bells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles.
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings.
these are a few of my favorite things.

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes,
snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes,
silver white winters that melt into springs,
these are a few of my favorite things.

When the dog bites, when the bee stings,
when I'm feeling sad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
and then I don't feel so bad.

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens,
bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens,
brown paper packages tied up with strings,
these are a few of my favorite things.

Cream colored ponies and crisp apple strudels,
door bells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles.

A friend of mine had a similar incident a few years ago, but used the alternative form ``brown paper kittens all tied up with string''.

I can do more of the lyrics....

Be afraid, be very afraid!

[livejournal.com profile] zotz always used to sing, cheerfully, "girls in white dresses all tied up with string".

Just remember that (in the words of Steve Shipway):
PPP Daemons and protocol routers
TCP/IP and fast system booters
Long network cables like tincans on strings
These are a few of the internet things

Serial modems and null-modem cables
Millions of DIP-switches, all without labels
Flow control, stop bits, software and hard
Wondering why your connection is barred

INN, CNEWS, nntp servers
slurp to collect it (do we really deserve this?)
Route it to demon, cross fingers and pray
This is what happens most every day.

Internal subnets, with bridges and routers
Protocol stacks on dos/windows computers
Flaky net configs that break on a whim
Leaving the packets stuffed into a SIMM

[grin] I'm sure he did!

That's just origami tendencies coming out. [grin]

Impressive. Slightly scary, but impressive! [grin][hugs]

I've just given away my secret love of musicals, haven't I?

Just wait. I'll start quoting lyrics from Camelot next....

Sorry for the fairly pointless comment but that misheard lyric is *THE* funniest thing that I've seen today. I thought the ridiculous, unexpected laugh it just conjured up was worth a comment. :)

I believe that may be considered some kind of ultimatum! [grin]

Then again, I've got Jesus Christ Superstar and Notre Dame De Paris on CD ...

Pointless comment utterly accepted!
