Having spoken to the garage regarding the MOT and service, and getting a quote for getting the timing chain fettled, I see why they mention it as "something to watch out for" - twin chains means three tensioners, and lots of bits. The rattle could be minor, or could lead to the chains going snap while powering down the motorway. I decided it would be a better idea to get the chains seen to, as it's still cheaper than risk having to buy a whole new engine (or whole new car). Still mildly narked at the guys who sorted the head gasket last year, as they could have done the chains then, while now I need to pay for the engine to be stripped a second time. Mutter. Then again, that's why I don't use them any more.
But they're right about "some people love them"!
