[Films] Horror Express

... which was just on. I'd forgotten how good that film was ... Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee, mad monks, zombie cossacks (including Telly Savalas) and a brain-wiping creature from outer space. Sounds like a B-Movie to me.

And such wonderful lines as:
Detective: "A good plan, but what if one of you is the monster?"
Dr Wells (Peter Cushing) (aggrieved): "But we're English!"

Dr Wells, who has been dining with a glamorous companion, to his diminutive grey-haired colleague: "Miss Jones, I will need your assistance."
Miss Jones: "At your age, I'm not surprised."
Dr Wells: "With an autopsy, Miss Jones."

Tweed suits and heroism at the ready, gentlemen ...

Ah, dry wit. Not enough of that around these days.

Darn! I wish I'd watched/taped it after all - [livejournal.com profile] plinkymoo had mentioned it was on earlier in the evening. I could do with a laugh 'n'all.

It has its moments, but is generally not much cop, I'm afraid. Very 1970s europroduction, with badly dubbed extras. BUt it does indeed have some cool lines in it.

To be honest, I think I preferred The Creeping Flesh (which was very similar) but admittedly had no Telly Savalas as a zombie cossack - something which could improve so many films, particularly anything directed by Richard Curtis.
