[Poll] Shoe sizes

OK, this is quite a long one, due to pollage, but was inspired by [Poll #391500](If you've got an assortment of differently sized shoes, please pick your usual size. If you don't know what UK size you take, the link above has a comparison table.)

OK, so I'm both bored and curious ...

EDIT: [livejournal.com profile] nils, is there something you want to share with the group? [grin] There's always one ...

Size 8 here. I do have problems trying to get shoes as you get Looked at by sales staff plus they rarely have a decent 8. A 'large' 7 is about as good as I get usually. Or you have to buy wider shoes (okay, boots) than you need.

I have the opposite problem as many eights are ok for length but slip off at the back being too wide for me. When I find shoes I like I tend to therefore wear them for years rather than seeking new ones.

Most places seem to offer up to size 8, but usually in the 'sensible' styles rather than anything really nice :-(

OOOH. Bloody hell that must be a nightmare. (I have to say your icon is adorable.)

I admit to loafing around in men's boots for years because there simply wasn't anything for girls.

I wore men's shoes throughout most of my school years, DMs through Uni, and now have to rely on specialist places like Magnus and Tallgirls for shoes.

Magnus are great. Its even better now they do proper online ordering.
Thanks to last couple of posts i remembered i needed to order some new trainers. My current pair i bought from magnus now leak in the rain. So i did now that they have proper online ordering.

When i went to their Hampstead branch the last tiem they were most helpful.

in leicester is also really good for large shoes, and thigh boots an goth boots. I think they are up to a size 14 and they custome make.

Court shoes are around 30 pounds.

I think they started out as a transvestite shop, but now sell a lot of stuff to women too.

Heh, I bought my first pair of PVC thigh boots from Hayway in 1997 - they had a stall at WGW but were only carrying up to a size 8 - we had to drive down to their stall at a Tranny fair in Scarborough to get my size!

Not quite what I'd wear for work, though...
