Can anyone recommend somewhere to eat in the Paddington area - reasonably priced, and not likely to need booking? rich_r is on a training course, and cookwitch and I are meeting him for dinner - but none of us know that end of town at all well.
there are a couple of decent curry-houses in the vicinity (5 minutes walk) of the station, one of those Steak-house places virtually opposite (for obvious reasons I've no idea what the grub's like in there!). If you're prepared to venture a wee bit further there are plenty of good foodie places along the Edgware Road from Praed St down to Marble Arch. I'd say most of those would be fine for just turning up.
Oh... and there is a cool-looking place just down the road from Padd (towards Edgware Road) converted from an old multi-floored hardware shop (Langhams??) which opened a few years back... keep meaning to check out their menu/prices.
