While at [livejournal.com profile] nisaba and [livejournal.com profile] willmate's engagement party in July, I stepped out onto the pub's balcony and took a couple of shots of the Thames at dusk.

Gallery is here

Possibly not my best 'river at dusk' shots, but OK for handheld, I think. Slightly noisy, as ISO was cranked all the way.

Thanks. And, er, sorry?

Lovely pictures. I do miss Hammersmith sometimes (well, I'm going back there tonight, so maybe I'll nip down to the bridge on the way).

They're pretty good, I think it's a shame the tide was pretty much out, I think they'd have been better with a fuller river. (But that's just my personal view).

The bridge is definitely one of my favourite things about living in Hammersmith, along with the Thames itself.

Aye, quite possibly - although it would have brought the reflections closer to the bridge. Not yet ventured into the depths of the shots I took at Battersea Power Station earlier that day ... that's a really big folder.

Wow, those are cool. I particularly like the colours in the second one.

I can't really see the noise in the scaled smugmug versions but would like to pimp greycstoration anyway. I use it on all my ISO 800/1600 shots and think it improves them quite a bit. It's a GIMP plugin and a CLI app, and is free.

Aye, I do like the colours at dusk. Cheers for the recommendation - I'll plug that in tonight, and have a go with it. There might be some of the BiCon photos it can help with - I do often end up shooting at ISO 800/1600 - apparently I keep ending up in dark places. [grin]

Wow, I love those photos. Makes Hammersmith almost look a pleasant place to be!

If it only consisted of the riverside and, say, Brook Green, it would be.

Lovely, especially the first and second :).

Have you put bicon photos up yet? I'm sure you took a couple of me .

Not yet - although I may bump them ahead of the rest of my backlog, given the number of people who want to see them ... might even get them out tonight, as it were ...
