Friday - circumventing all discussion of whether Friday is really part of the weekend, my thrilling lectures (LIE!) were followed by a swift dash up the line to Water Rats. Despite arriving later than planned, managed to catch both Devilish Presley and Interlock, as intended. I'd heard a couple of the Devilish Presley promo singles, and they were even better live. Interlock far exceeded what I'd heard on the one demo I'd acquired. And [livejournal.com profile] interlock lent me her CyberShot camera, so soon afterwards I had amassed about sixty shots on the memory card. [grin] And then bought the merchandise stall. [cough] Very good CDs though, and the Wasp Factory one hasn't left my CD walkman since the train home on Friday night. [bounce]
Saturday - Mostly spend working on C++ assignment, and waiting for the delivery of the sofa. Once sofa delivered, I abandoned the collection of huge boxes in my living room to head home and use the parental washing machine, as I still haven't got around to buying one myself. Got cornered into staying for dinner-esque gathering with my brother's godmother and my father's godson. Beginning to sound like an episode of The Sopranos, but escaped home. Unfortunately, the sofa had taken so long to arrive, that by the time that it was there, it was way too late to go to [livejournal.com profile] sushidog's party so I delegated my cheese scone eating duty to [livejournal.com profile] jhaelan. When I finally got home I put the sofa together, and proceeded to fall asleep on it for about an hour.
Sunday - Partly spent stunned at the sheer size of the sofa, and the fact that there is no practical chance of fitting a second one into the same flat. Oh well, another plan down the drain. Then some more programming, followed by The Last Samurai with [livejournal.com profile] littleangel_103, [livejournal.com profile] catviret, and Madeline. Good film, allowing for the random descents into the depths of cliche, with a good performance from Timothy Spall, and a tragic accent afflicting Billy Connolly. Oh, and I'm going to bet the American public in general think that "The Last Samurai" refers best to Tom Cruise's character ... we then had a discussion about the number of other, better, interpretations, after the unfortunate discovery that, like John Peel, neither [livejournal.com profile] catviret nor myself can be trusted to eat ice cream in an accurate fashion. Thence back to the flat for some more work, before a swift soft drink at Clarets with the assorted reprobates who infest it of a Sunday evening (with the addition of Chloe).
Monday - A day spent doing first aid training, so that I am now qualified to be the "appointed person", whose role is to say "yes, you're injured, I'll call an ambulance, and do you mind filling out this accident book while you're waiting?", followed by a quick dash to college for three hours lectures. Then followed by much of the night spent swearing at the Borland C++ compiler, three hours sleep, and then waking to discover that it was ...
Tuesday - At which point I was late for work ...

In other news, currently scanning some of the New Years Eve B-Movie pics, and about to head home to pass out before the arrival of the cable guy tomorrow. Oh, and due to popular request (or TPO at least), working on a new lyrics quiz ...

(Oh, and the mystery ankle-twister (see here) was [livejournal.com profile] littleangel_103. Fortunately, 'tis but badly twisted, rather than re-broken. [hugs])
