[Aaaagh!] I'm melting! I'm melting!

Humankind was not intended for these conditions! (OK, more accurately, I wasn't. But what's a little evolution between species?) I want to go back to my nice cool flat!

Actually, it's OK in this office at the moment, provided I don't move too much and remain sitting about three feet in front of a fan ... but then it's on ly mid-morning ...

I know what to do in the cooler months - if I'm cold, I put more layers on. But in the summer, there are limits to how far one can remove layers whilst remaining a) seemly and b) aesthetic (especially in an office). So I spend summer in a state of general overheatedness. Plus, of course, one dresses for commuting (minimal layers), then the office has so much aircon that you get too cold, then you step outside and melt...

I'm English - I'm designed for drizzle. "Today it'll be a wonderful 27 degrees" - wonderful for WHOM?

They took out the aircon in my office sometime over winter. I have no idea why.

Theoretically we have aircon here. Then again, last week I had to phone up Facilities to ask why the heating was still on.

I have the opposite problem. Work is lovely and air conditioned, but my flat is like an oven. Bloody freezing in winter too.

It's boiling here, and it will get hotter as the day goes on - the sun will shine straight in the living-room window :-(

Yeah, our first floor flat isn't particularly comfortable at the moment, especially in the spare room where we have both computers and my 19" Sun monitor. We have a pedestal fan but no room in here to put it so will need to get a desk fan. All the windows are open so my hayfever has kicked in :-/

And please don't say that as an Australian I should be used to it :-P

I am considering refridgerating various articles of clothing: ice blocks in the bed are also a consideration.
