Here's my setlist from BiFest last night - about an hour and a half of admittedly fairly random eclectic stuff, due to the wide range of music tastes ...

Ready to go - Republica
Let's Do It - Joan Jett & Paul Westerberg
Tubthumping - Chumbawamba
Disco 2000 - Pulp
Taste in Men - Placebo
Girls and Boys - Blur
Friday I'm in Love - The Cure
I Believe In A Thing Called Love - The Darkness
You Give Love a Bad Name - Bon Jovi
Baby I Don't Care - Transvision Vamp
One Way or Another - Blondie
Magic Dance - David Bowie
What's This? - Fall Out Boy
Personal Jesus - Marilyn Manson
Wild Boys - Duran Duran
Master & Servant - Depeche Mode
I Can't Decide - Scissor Sisters
Here Come the Drums - Rogue Traders
Dr Who on Holiday - Dean Grey (Green Day vs The Timelords)
Land Down Under - [spunge]
The Ghost That Feeds - nathanlane.com (Ray Parker Jnr vs Nine Inch Nails)
Oops I Did It Again - The Last Dance
Easy - Faith No More (last track of the night)

A combination of planned tracks, requests and some seat-of-the-pants rescheduling as I realised I'd overestimated the number of tracks I could fit into 90 minutes.

Hee, that is totally a set I could have played too :) (in other words: good choices, sir!)

[grin] It's the last track on Reflections of Rage, and it's rather good. I've inflicted it on a few dancefloors - including, possibly, B-Movie. [grin]

Hmm. A few of those there have made my setlists as well. Last Dance cover is handy when people start requesting shite like Britney. Is.....interestingly good.

Heh. That one wasn't even a request - it's just that I don't think many of the people at BiFest would recognise anything original by The Last Dance, and it would probably have cleared the dancefloor. A song which has them going "What the?" keeps them there until they've recognised it - and keeps them smiling. That's part of the problem with DJing events like BiCon, BiFest and PolyDay - the only thing that the attendees have in common has nothing to do with music, so you can't hang a setlist around a musical genre.

Now to work out what I'm going to inflict on your punters ... [grin] Ahem, I mean, what delights I am going to serve them. [cough]

Girls and Boys - Pulp

Um, I think that this was by Blur...

Would you buy it being a unique cover version?

[grin]

Oops - will go and fix it. Thanks for spotting that!

No worries!

I happened to be looking at the list with a friend hanging over my shoulder, and he thoroughly approved...
