[Werk] IT handover

Is it overly pessimistic to have "A Poisoned Chalice" as the working title for the handover briefing agenda I'm preparing for our new IT manager?

Don't get bitten by the 'hidden Word info' thing - it can tell people what documents have been saved as, and who by... ;)

That's OK - he's only going to see the paper copy - it's my briefing agenda ...

cup-of-woe? Or name it after John 11:35 :)

Not at all. I'd even use it as the 'real' title. But then I was tempted to rename our internal documentation website 'The book of lies'.

Unless this new IT Johnnie is one of those sensible types.

Unfortunately, he seems reasonably sensible. Like all of us here, he's effectively wearing two hats - so he's only a partly IT person (like me, actually - I started off here as data entry, and technically, that's still my main job (even if I have only done one day of it in the last fortnight)). He does have a sense of humour - I'm just not sure whether it gets applied to work.

they've invented overly pessimistic now?

Not at all, but you do run the risk that'll he'll realise he's being stiffed and withdraw, leaving you with the aforesaid Chalice of Poor Nutrition

My dear, I have been treading fluid in said receptacle for the past couple of months ... which could explain the poisonous nature
