Well, it's been a busy week - from working Christmas Eve, to the evening in the Ship, then a day in the company of my family, with the added quirk of my aged grandfather losing track of which day it was, and being given a warning regarding language found offensive (with particularly special timing, following the Queen's speech, which this year was about open-mindedness and inclusivity). Then to Chloe's parents for their traditional waifs and strays evening. Unfortunately Grizzly was still too hungover from the previous night to manage the five minute walk up the hill. Boxing Day lunch en famille again. Since then, there have been some abortive attempts to find a new TV and video, a slight shopping error resulting in an extension to my DVD collection (including the film starring Rutger Hauer and Mark Dacascos, which was retitled since I saw it on TV, thus rendering it a little hard to find), some time feeling rather disheartened about my MSc, the de-mildewing of my leathers (nasty shock that!), and
cookwitch cooking me a prawn/olive/garlic starter before a chicken/feta/spinach/egg/stuff main course, followed by Green & Black's Chocolate Ice Cream and some fun DVDs. Borrowed decks from an almost-naked guitarist, which actually fitted in the MineBringer's boot, flight-cased (decks, not guitarist). Had assorted email conversations regarding the Wedding of The Year, tracks, and so on. Attended
littleangel_103's "Friend's Christmas" (she cooks a damn fine turkey and coca-cola ham for a piscetarian), and had a small bag of cold turkey as a departure gift. And am now preparing for tonight's B-Movie, trying to find the safe place that I put the tickets (suspect somewhere near the wedding invite), and dealing with assorted domestic admin tasks. Some form of food may feature in the immediate plans, too, having been lacking somewhat from the immediate past.
Well, that was a bit of a jumble! Season's Greetings to all, and here's hoping that 2005 lives up to the selected highlights of 2004 ...
