Well, that was a stonking New Year at B-Movie, and then a stonking Wedding of the Year. Bride looked radiant, groom looked great, church looked wonderful, the service was excellent, and photo-taking was interesting (including the use of ladders). The reception rocked, thanks mostly to
nils's choice of excellent tunes. The non-rocking (in a music sense) parts of the reception were rather good due to some wonderful speeches by all parties, despite the heckling from a certain bridesmaid, and the buffet had, in a fashion reminiscent of Morecambe and Wise, "all the right dishes, just not necessarily in the right order". However, without this I'd hever have discovered that houmous and croutons are quite a good combination.
Thanks to
preachermuaddib and Scott
deathboy for helping set up the PA and decks (and helping with the de-rig at the end of the night),
mundenlogic and
cookwitch for helping with my nerves, and everyone who was there for making it such a memorable day and evening - hopefully the Tyrell Corporation (as they now are) enjoyed it as much!
Sunday was the family do, with vast quantities of food, helping serving drinks to the family, and watching one small child run backwards and forward between rooms, watched in bemusement by a toddler. Then dropped in on Chloe's to watch Miss Marple, and then Streets of Fire (which I picked up DVD), which is a bizarre combination of 50s/60s styling, with some 80s lycra as well, and music written by Ry Cooder, Tom Petty, Stevie Nicks, and Jim Steinman. I love that film!
