Listening to the Hellboy score at the moment. The film rocks, by the way. However, while the music is rather good, and there are handy titles to each track, the sequence of titles (and, presumably, the sequence of tracks as well), do not seem to match the sequence of events in the film ... in any way. Why, oh cruel world?

*waves* at you.

You know, irked is such a good word.

Perhaps, when they put the sound track together, they did it this way on purpose just to annoy everyone. I find this more than plausible.

Is there any particular reason why it should?

You hear them on the record in completely different circumstances than you do in the film, and without the pauses between them. Presumably they thought that as music, without these factors they would work better in a different order.

After all, nobody insists (I hope) that songs on a pop album run strictly in the order they were written or recorded.

I have noticed that this happens quite often on soundtracks (less so if it is a clasical score throughout) and ofcourse you have different versions/ things tracks missed out and added and in the case of the Blair Witch project where there was no music so they just made a soundtrack up (I remmber the furore about it and compalining, but why peopel did not cotton ontot hisbefore the bought the album I do not know)

I must admit that I had pretty low expectations for the film really and I was wrong. It was cheesy but intentionally so and in a way that really worked quite well. It's certainly one of the better comic adaptations - not as good as Batman Returns though - meow!
