Getting angry at seeing Christmas stuff in the shops already?

Losing faith in western society coz you started hearing Christmas adds on
the radio two months ago?

Well, chill, coz now you have something else to look forward to:

Santacon!

Seems the date for this year's Santacon has already been set: 11th
December!!!!

Come, dress up as Santa, join another 200 - 400 like minded reprobates, and
go spaz throughout central London, in an orgy of chaos and alcohol.

Without a shadow of a doubt, the most fun you'll have in December.

(OK, I'm not actually going, but photos from last years are here)

trust me...you can wait. its funny but...i can't really remember anything about it other than billy bob drinking in a santa suit. then again i'm not a big fan of mr. domestic abuse in any movie so go ahead and ignore my opinion (which is wait a little longer for video)!

Strange, I went to a couple of media Cons back in the mid 80s (84 & 86) called Santacon. No dressing as Santa, although [livejournal.com profile] grandad42 did win a Boy George lookalike competition.

That sounds so fun. I want to run round London in a little fur-trimmed outfit causing chaos!

I probably shouldn't mention the shop I saw yesterday with a full window dispaly of decorations including illuminated reindeer and sleighs then. Full size. Plus a tree.

noggles.

Yeap. Dairy milk with snowflake patterns, white chocolate snowmen and (naturally enough) chocolate advent calendar are already in Woolies.

But the shopping channels have been having christmas specials since JUNE!

Xmas commercials should start in December. December 26th, to make sure *no*one* misses The Important Commercial Status of this once-religious holiday...
