This morning I am expecting a phone call from Steve Harris.
Unfortunately, it's not the real one, but an imposter ...

I've been to his house. His uncle offered me a job once, as hostess on the Iron Maiden tour in Germany.

We're not worthy! We're not worthy! [bows]

Just happened to be in the right place in the right time. I seem to have a knack for it. A bit like the time Ozzy Osbourne gave me a lift back home after a night out with friends. Or got to chat to Geezer Butler because he'd come to collect his regular comics order from Chaos City Comics in St.Albans, owned by my friend Rich; I was in the back room scanning some artwork (I didn't have my own scanner at the time), and Rich brought Geezer into the back for a coffee whilst he bagged up the order, so we ended up chatting. Plus I've met and spoken with Marilyn Manson a couple of times. Sheer chance though.

Um...I'm not making this any better, am I? ;-)

Wow. That's cool.

I stood next to Steve Harris at a Def Leppard gig once, but I couldn't think of anything to say that went beyond 'Oh my God, you're Steve Harris. I worshipped you when I was 14.', which would have been a bit pathetic. :)

He's got a very nice studio in his house. He was mostly interested in showing it off and talking guitars. Oh, and football. He's very keen on football, much like the rest of Iron Maiden.

I like your "rockstar" icon. I have one of those hats too. ;-)

Nah. They got to meet you.

Who's Steve Harris?

He's the bass-player for Iron Maiden ... the thing is, it being you asking, I'm not sure whether you're being sarcastic, or just don't know. [grin]

I didn't know who Steve Harris is either!

December 1989. :) Just slightly more recent than this one.

I hardly seem to have any photos of me from my ubergoth youth!

Should I put some of his work on my next compilation? :-p

That's a trick question, isn't it?

So we're not talking about the guy with his arm up Orville's bum, then?

No I don't know, and I'm proud of the fact, thank you very much.

Iron Maiden are a band that I've completely managed to avoid all my life, thank goodness. I know I will get flamed for this comment, but I'm rather proud of my "never been into heavy metal" (apart fom GWAR) approach! ;-)

Is this where I add in that the B Movie Doorbird got to see Bruce Dickinson in his pants AND measure his inside leg?

*sniggers*

Heh. My long-suffering ex-officemate is also a Steve Harris. He's rather annoyed by how hard it is to find him using Google, thanks to the rather more famous guitarist.
