Working out whether to go by car or train to Brighton today (Thursday) for the NMA gig. Train down takes about an hour, drive would be a little longer.
Problem is that last train back is 23.37, after which I'd need to wait until 4am. Anyone know what time the gig will end? Or anyone got a spare seat back from Brighton to London after the gig. No major detours required, as I live in Croydon, so it's near the A23.

We took a cab back to Gatwick (booked in advance), which cost about 35 quid, then train home, as they run all night from there, and probably stop at East Croydon. Was cheaper than a hotel, as noone in Brighton accepts one-night bookings. However, probably not cheaper than taking the car down.

Problem with going down by MineBringer is that I'd probably get stuck in the rush-hour traffic heading down from London, thus risking missing a) the start of the gig and b) getting my ticket from magfish. Gah, decisions! I know that nils, at least, is planning to catch the train back up.

the band usually isn't onstage til 9 at the very earliest, often 9.30 depending on whether there's a club afterwards or not (it being bighton on a thursday night, i'm thinking there'll be a club though!). i usually go in about 30 minutes before the band come on, so as long as you can meet me by 8/8.30, you should be fine for your ticket! ;-)

Cheers. I managed to pick up the mobile number, so there's now no escape. Mwahahaha. What's the support been like this tour? Oh, decisions, decisions. If you're going to be around until 8ish, I might well drive, to avoid worry about the train back.

If you do decide to drive, I might try to blag a lift back with you, if it looks like getting that last train is going to be tricky... ;-)
