I'm quite pleased with some of the photos that I took over the weekend - so I thought I'd show some of them off to them as don't want to go so far as going through them ...

OK, I'll admit it. I took a shedload of photos, and knew no-one would browse the indexes! Can't blame you, either, to be honest!

Bodiam's one of my absolute favourite late mediaeval castles - up there with Raglan. Your pics do it justice, in fact the one through the trees might be wallpaper for a bit.

Ooh! [blush] Ta!

It's only 800x600 there, but if you're using a large screen, I can e-mail you the 1600x1200 tonight ...

I love the one of the casement. Oh my. That would make a stuning print.

Hmmmm ... [starts musing]

My (creative) brain is just over active today. There's all sorts of things running about in it.

Beautiful photos honey, really lovely.

"Casement" and the shot of the castle framed by the trees/undergrowth are partiucluarly nice...

Ta. I actually took three different versions of the Casement one - metering in a different spot each time (thanks to [livejournal.com profile] reddragdiva forwarding me the link to the manual for the camera).

I quite like the third one, for the glimps of the tree centred in the aperture ...

Very nice - where is Bodiam Castle?

East Sussex.

The relevant NT page is here.

Some rather stunning photos. Bodiam looks lovely, perhaps Lisa and I might venture that way ourselves at some stage. :-)

The flowers are Mesembryanthemum (I think) and lupin.

(And yes, I got the icon working...)

Rar for people who know things!
And w00t for icons!

Did you drive to Bodiam, or did you get there by train? It looks great, I'd love to visit it this summer with [personal profile] incy, if we can. :-)

We drove. Which led to this photo of MineBringer playing hide and seek.

The nearby station is not on the "real" network, but part of a historic service, which runs steam and suchlike. We picked up some leaflets, but not sure where they ended up. It might connect up with the "real" network at some point.

Nice to see I wasn't the only one taking photos of train stations at the weekend! Though mine were of Sheffield station whilst I was bored waiting for my connection :-)

Which reminds me, must get off my arse and upload the buggers sometime...

I try to carry my camera with me most of the time, so I can catch images when they appear. And I used to play on that station as a kid, before they refurbed it and the line. There used to be an old rusty tank engine there, which we used to play on ...

Child safety ain't what it used to be! ;-)

In those days it was perfectly okay to let your child chew a glass topped coffee table*. Kids today are soft!

* I did this when I was teething and ended up attaching my head to the glass - hence scar through my eyebrow...

Unfortunately when I was younger people thought I shaved my eyebrow to look like Vanilla Ice/Luke Perry/other famous wonky eyebrowed type from the early 90s :-(

Still get people asking if I shave it. Including people who've known me for years and have only just noticed.

Memo to self: Ask not about wonky eyebrows ...

However, feel free to point and laugh if I've had some sort of plucking or dying disaster...
