As a result of [livejournal.com profile] easterbunny's recent 'Toast' poll, there has been a side-debate about peanut butter. So, to resolve it (yeah, right), here's a poll ...

Food of the gods!

Obviously, said gods may not be up to long-distance running, and may indeed be quite sturdy gods, but still ...

Yep, I'm with you on this one. Toast with cheese and peanut butter is luuuurvely.

Y'see, I'm nor so keen on that - PB and cheese on bread, or in a sandwich, or on a cracker - delicious. But on toast I tend to prefer them separately - I find that the cheese doesn't melt so well onto the toast if there's PB in between. Unless you're talking Brevilles, in which case, mmmm, delicious!

jam and cheese on crackers

Oh at LAST! Someone else who likes jam and cheese. *happy*
Sunday, February 18th, 2007 07:31 pm (UTC)
actually don't need the crackers just jam on cheese :)

I've not tried it as Brevilles, or with the cheese melted. I just put slices of cheese on a slice of toast, PB on another, and have that as a sarnie :)

Food fo the Wrong Gods!

Though I now have an odd desire to add peanut butter and cheese to a toasted sandwich...
Friday, February 16th, 2007 05:23 pm (UTC)
Look into my eyes - you know that you want to! In a toasted sandwich, they do work rather well ...
Friday, February 16th, 2007 05:26 pm (UTC)
hehe...

Actually, i forgot - banana and peanut butter toasties!

:D
Friday, February 16th, 2007 05:28 pm (UTC)
Yep, those work. Now go back and correct your answers! [grin]
Friday, February 16th, 2007 05:38 pm (UTC)
Wow. I'm not usually that commanding! [grin]

I'm in a good mood atm! It's Friday, my injuries from earlier seem to be fading, I have half a tub of Skinny Cow ice cream at home, NCIS is on TV tonight and I have a hot double-date with my Bath and Duvet tonight!

Bring.It.On!
Friday, February 16th, 2007 05:31 pm (UTC)
I thought it sounded odd, but tried it and loved it. Mmmm, cheese.
Friday, February 16th, 2007 05:03 pm (UTC)
Have no preference re: crunchy or smooth, it really depends how the mood takes me.

I do find that peanuts make my skin break out, though, so I avoid it generally :/ Shame as it's delicious.

though it is a mantra, somewhat like "i don't like marmite". i have no idea why i think i don't like peanut butter, i have no memory of ever having consumed the stuff but i do know i don't like it...

Friday, February 16th, 2007 05:17 pm (UTC)
I actually only like peanut butter on bread at all *sometimes*. However I *adore* apple slices with peanut butter on them.
Friday, February 16th, 2007 05:19 pm (UTC)
Satay fruit? [grin]
Friday, February 16th, 2007 05:25 pm (UTC)
Satay... mmmmmmmmmm
Friday, February 16th, 2007 05:41 pm (UTC)
mmm all this talk of cooking with peanut butter... I think I need to make me some African Peanut Stew.
Friday, February 16th, 2007 05:44 pm (UTC)
Groundnut stew. Mmmmm.
Friday, February 16th, 2007 07:56 pm (UTC)
I have a recipe for that too. [shuffles]
Friday, February 16th, 2007 09:14 pm (UTC)
mmm appple and peanut butter butties
Friday, February 16th, 2007 05:31 pm (UTC)
I believe that there are only two uses for peanut butter:
  1. Sticking things to other things;
  2. As a punishment for people with dentures (extra points if 'crunchy' texture available).
No, wait: here's some more uses.

I like crunchy and smooth peanut butter with butter on toast and without it. Where is there no "both" option?
Friday, February 16th, 2007 05:45 pm (UTC)
Why is there no "both" option?
[grin] Because I was attempting to constrain respondents so that they didn't wander off into the strange highways and byways of the comestible world. And because I forgot to put it on.

Chocolate bar? As in Flake? Nope - and nothing more questionable, either - merely shorthand for "unique and special snowflake", the tradtional option for those who refuse to select any of the given options in a poll ...

I prefer the childlike manner of eating peanut butter directly from jar using no implements. I'm afraid toast just obscures the direct taste hit:-)

I shall counter your argument, sir, by stating that I regard my finger as a digit/an extension of my good self and in no way does it resemble a knife (not since I last looked.... euch! Good lord! etc)

Doesn't an implement mean something other than the body used as a tool?
