Here are the photos from last week's visit to Bodiam Castle with
cookwitch, including a detour to Lamberhurst Church and an assortment of small birdlife. And, as a special bonus, I found the photos from our visit to the St Pancras Hotel in 2004, although these were taken with the old Sanyo Digicam, so are a bit small and grainy. I should really have taken the 35mm. [sigh]

In the Bodiam photos, you can see
cookwitch providing a sense of scale to a fireplace, and possibly the most superfluous "Closed" sign in history.

That certainly is a big fireplace - I suspect a roaring fire and a spit big enough for a whole cow might have been the original occupants.

Heh - there were two of them in the main kitchen - and a third in the staff kitchen.

(Blink reminded me that somewhere I have a photo of an angel from Melbourne Cemetery, which I must dig out)
