Here are the photos from last week's visit to Bodiam Castle with [livejournal.com profile] cookwitch, including a detour to Lamberhurst Church and an assortment of small birdlife. And, as a special bonus, I found the photos from our visit to the St Pancras Hotel in 2004, although these were taken with the old Sanyo Digicam, so are a bit small and grainy. I should really have taken the 35mm. [sigh]

In the Bodiam photos, you can see [livejournal.com profile] cookwitch providing a sense of scale to a fireplace, and possibly the most superfluous "Closed" sign in history.

Were you careful not to blink when in the vicinity of these?

That certainly is a big fireplace - I suspect a roaring fire and a spit big enough for a whole cow might have been the original occupants.

[grin] Aye (or possibly "Eye") - especially as there was only one of it, even though it only had one arm. Wasn't weeping, though. Although the cherub was.

Heh - there were two of them in the main kitchen - and a third in the staff kitchen.

I'm sorry, but that icon is really starting to scare me a bit now. :{

Heh, I was thinking the same thing about the angel :)

(Blink reminded me that somewhere I have a photo of an angel from Melbourne Cemetery, which I must dig out)

Goodness! St Pancras! That was our first proper Going Out Date you know. Photographically speaking anyway. Start as you mean to go on I say.
