Aye. Slightly grainy, due, I suspect, to me having left the ISO dialled up from a previous photo, but I think that works quite well with the image. And a slight crop to remove track-side signage.
If it was small, literally just coming around the corner, it'd give just a small focal point and the colour would have given a good contrast to the rest of the shot with has very similar tones.
If it was small, literally just coming around the corner The corner's not actually that far away - the perspective is odd because the ground slopes away, so it would have been bigger than expected.
Cheers. I think it was actually a "colour" photo, as far as the camera was concerned ... but there wasn't much colour in the scene. [grin] Of course, I might have left it on monotone, but I don't think I did, as the other photos that I took that morning are full-colour. There was a bit of cropping to neaten it up.
I can see the hints of green/orange/brown, lovely autumn shades, in the foliage and the overall shot has a distinct sepia tone to it. I don't think it would have quite the same effect in just B&W, the little hints of colour are just enough to give it warmth, IYSWIM. :)
the overall shot has a distinct sepia tone to it Aye, I think the slight golden glow of the sun reflected off the wet tarmac was one of the things I liked about it. Maybe some playing with the colour/white balance might have made tones slightly warmer, though.
Almost worthy of bestowing honorary traing33kiness upon you I'm flattered, although palmersperry and blue_condition would be amused by that.
It actually feels Eastern European to me Aye - I suppose it's partly because of the overhead tram power, combined with the trees and the mistiness, as well as the tones.

The lack of colour, and the grainy texture, work really well with the general composition. :)

Yep, I like the misty ones too, although ISTR the monotone was a side-effect of the image, rather than being intentional!

It actually feels Eastern European to me - I've seen similar scenes when traing33king around the former DDR and Poland.
