I can see the hints of green/orange/brown, lovely autumn shades, in the foliage and the overall shot has a distinct sepia tone to it. I don't think it would have quite the same effect in just B&W, the little hints of colour are just enough to give it warmth, IYSWIM. :)
the overall shot has a distinct sepia tone to it Aye, I think the slight golden glow of the sun reflected off the wet tarmac was one of the things I liked about it. Maybe some playing with the colour/white balance might have made tones slightly warmer, though.
