[Nexus] Champagne query

[grin] I won't ask whether anyone here knows anything about champagne, but I don't, personally.

We've got some bottles in the office, left over from an event, and the Fundraising department is wondering where on the scale of "good" to "pour down sink with nose held shut" they are ...

According to the label, it's "Sarcey Brut Champage Champagne", with "Private Cuvée", but there's nothing so classy as a date.

What is this stuff?

It doesn't necessarily mean it's shit though. The producer and the year would be helpful.

For example the 1964 Krug Private Cuvee is excellent. Compared with the 1962... which is, relatively speaking, flat piss.

Then it's definitely leaning more in the direction of being horse piss. Although Sarcey do have a good reputation with wines, but they are just importers. It's probably just akin to a good, dry sparkling wine.
